Cheap Paintball Guns

Why are they cheap?

Of course you’re looking for cheap paintball guns, but here’s what really happens: You pick up the paintball gun in the store, and turn it over to the butt: $250! You can’t afford that kind of money for your hobby!

There are some very good reasons for looking for cheap paintball guns, and some equally good reasons to be careful about what you buy.

Finding a Cheap Paintball Gun

Finding good, yet cheap, paintball guns can be as exciting a hunt as any moment in your paintball game. If you want cheap paintball guns that are also pretty good guns, don’t just pick one up at Wal-mart and have done with it. Instead, do your homework. Research the major brands – Spyder, Tippman, Angel, Piranha – and find out what it is about their guns that makes them good. Each paintball gun has a different advantage; you should decide what your ideal gun is before buying one.

Here are 2 examples of cheap guns. I didn't pick the cheapest one, believe me, I'm doing you a favor. Click a picture for more information:

You do have the option of going to Ebay or another second hand site and purchase a used or refurbished gun. The biggest problem with that is that you don’t really know what you’re going to get. You only see a picture of the gun online, and some Ebay dealers have been dishonest enough to send cheap paintball guns different from the one in the picture. This will get them kicked off Ebay when you complain, but they’ll just open up shop under a new name – and you’ll lose your money.

Cheap paintball guns that have been refurbished are probably a better bet, but even then, you have a gun that’s been taken apart, had a problem fixed, then put back together. Its pieces might not match up as well, and it might have had other problems. With a warranty, a refurbished paintball gun is okay; without one I think you're asking for troubles.

Buying In Bulk: Paintball Packages

Well, paintball guns aren’t the only items you’ll need to play paintball; you’ll need paintballs, of course, and goggles, face mask, throat protector, athletic cup or chest protector, and of course clothing. Another way to find cheap paintball guns is by purchasing a paintball package. Getting all your paintballing supplies at the same time saves you a lot of money if you can find a good deal.

Another option is to purchase cheap paintball guns in what’s called the entry-level category. These guns will probably still cost you around a hundred dollars, but they are sturdy and reliable, and while they may not be as powerful or have as many options as the higher priced ones, at least you know these cheap paintball guns will be reliable.
