Paintball Training
So you bought your basic gear and you've played a few times with your
buddies. You went out, kicked some butt (or got your butt kicked), and
are begging for more. What now?
Training and Strategy
- Practice running and shooting. You can do this practically anywhere
and you should do it until it feels natural.
- Practice shooting moving objects. Paintballs move slower than bullets.
You have to learn the speed of your gun.
- Practice the art of the ninja. Watch a Kung Fu movie and get stealth.
- Target practice. Lobbing three missed shots does more than waste paint.
It reveals your position. Use progressively smaller targets and don't
give up until you're Robocop (well...).
- Know your terrain. Don't ever walk into a game without knowing as much
as possible about the field.
- Know your opponent. Who are you playing against? Have they been playing
a lot. Are they fast, slow, snipers, etc.
- Know yourself. What do you bring to your team? What are your weaknesses?
- Know the in and outs of your equipment.
- Be fit! Go jogging, cycling or visit the local gym.
- Watch some paintball videos and learn.
